Role Purpose:

  • Our client, based in Co. Kilkenny, is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer on a contract role.
  • This role will report to the Project Engineering Manager.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Engineering and Management of the implementation of process and utility CAPEX projects on the site, ranging from minor process improvements executed in house to large scale turnkey installations executed by external contractors.
  • Developing project scope and process performance targets in conjunction with the site operations team.
  • Generation of project budgets and capital approval submissions.
  • Tendering & contract award to external contractors, management of the resulting process integration contracts.
  • Design & implementation of small-scale process changes.
  • Work with the site operations team to identify process improvement opportunities and generally engage in the site Continuous Improvement activities (including sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives).
  • Provide technical support to the site production, maintenance and utility teams.
  • Work within a cross functional multidiscipline team environment
  • Assist the process automation team in developing user requirements and FDS.
  • Support Operational Readiness Programme (ORP) for project delivery.
  • Coordinate external resources (project dependent) as necessary (e.g. Civil / Structural design consultants).

Education & Qualifications Required:

  • 3rd level qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management within a large-scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the dairy, food, beverage or Healthcare industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement engineering solutions in similar scale liquid processing plant.
  • Successful track record of project delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication – verbal & written.
  • The ability to engage, motivate and understand people.
