Role Purpose:

  • A vacancy has arisen for the role of a Maintenance Planning Engineer at our client’s busy pharmaceutical site in Co. Kildare
  • This role demands flexibility and cross-functional liaison and co-operation.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict adherence to site policies/procedures, cGMP and environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
  • Execute responsibilities in line with Right First-Time principles.
  • Ensure that all planned maintenance is completed within the allotted time, however if this is not possible, ensure that the necessary deviation paperwork is submitted justifying any extension.
  • Drive complex defect elimination.
  • Work with the production scheduler to implement routine and non-routine plant maintenance program, measure adherence to schedule & implement corrective measures where required.
  • Root Cause analysis for elimination of repeat performance issues /occurrences.
  • Participate in decision making in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Working with the Plant Engineer on the continuous development & improvement of the site preventative maintenance program to meet the changing needs of the site.
  • Participate in and drive Safety initiatives onsite.
  • Support Quality investigations as required.
  • Working with the Equipment Engineering team and Reliability Engineer to integrate new processes & equipment into the existing maintenance system complete with equipment definitions, task lists, maintenance plans, spares & equipment BOM’s.
  • Work closely with the Shift Engineer and maintenance team to resolve equipment breakdowns, assisting them in the sourcing of spares, drawings etc needed to resolve issues.
  • Analyse information from the CMMS system to interrogate the data for better understanding of how technician resources are being deployed and where improvements might be made.

Education & Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline with relevant pharmaceutical experience or suitable equivalence due to length of service and level of experience when working within the Pharmaceuticals / Food industry.
  • Proficient in technical problem solving.
  • Experience in solid dose / packaging desirable.
  • Direct maintenance planning experience in pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong Ownership and accountability.
  • Highly collaborative working and good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems.
